Arrow and bow Purchasing notes:
Arrows: Should be spined to match the draw weight of the bow being used. An arrow that is rated 40 lbs. can be used with bows rated that weight or lower. Never use an arrow rated lower than the draw weight of the bow: i.e. 30 lb. arrow with a 35 lb. bow. Choose arrows that are correct length for the archers. Longer arrows may be used safely, but never under any circumstances should an arrow be shorter than the archers draw length.
Bows: Choose a bow the archer can handle comfortably and is proportionate to their height. Do not overbow; the draw weight should be no heavier than can be fully drawn and held in anchor position with ease. As the archer becomes stronger, more consistent, and proficient, reassign to a 5-10 lb. heavier draw weight bow. Repeat this process until archer is at the heaviest draw weight that can be handled accurately and comfortably.
